London – EM, the leading independent financial and corporate communications agency dedicated to serving clients in emerging markets, took Gold in the Best IPO Communications category at the Corporate & Financial Awards for its work with Detsky Mir. The awards took place in London this week at a ceremony hosted by the BBC’s Sophie Raworth.
A panel of more than 20 highly experienced industry judges praised EM and Detsky Mir for the IPO’s remarkable execution, and for setting out a strategy not just for communicating with the company’s own potential investors, but for reaching the world’s media and shifting opinions.
The USD 355 million IPO of Detsky Mir, Russia’s largest children’s goods retailer, was completed in February 2017 on Moscow Exchange and was widely hailed as a bellwether for Russian capital markets.
“We are pleased to take home a Gold from such an authoritative voice in the industry as the Corporate & Financial Awards. For the first time a Moscow Exchange IPO has made it to this level of recognition internationally, which is a testament both to the superb creative talents and effectiveness of the EM team – which covered Hong Kong, Moscow, London and New York for this transaction – and to the great work of Moscow Exchange itself in establishing Moscow as a major international exchange where issuers can attract a diverse pool of high quality international investors from around the world.
“Our joint success with the Detsky Mir team not only set the standard for creative and influential IPO communications – it was also instrumental in increasing the attractiveness of Russia’s capital markets in the eyes of the global investment community.”
